I got 5 on it!

In our most recent conference call we discussed saving money. Many of us know that using a spatula, or not allowing employees to eat out of flops will save money, and it is even written in our handbook that these are policies we should follow, however, it has been some time since we have read the handbook and many of us have decided that doing things "the Sonny's way" with a little of our own personal flavor has suited us well for this long. In these difficult economic times it is important that we work together and share our ideas on ways to save money. These are some of the things we are doing at Chellie Rd, please share with me the ideas you have so that we can all work together.

NO FLOPS, FOAM CONTAINERS, or CUTLERY KITS for employees
- If our employees do not feel comfortable eating off of the plates they serve to our guests, we have a problem
- If you don’t feel comfortable eating off of the plates we server our guests, you can fix this problem.
- Stay on top of the dish man; make him do a better job washing dishes.
- Employees may use a large plastic basket with a liner to eat off of.

THE POWER BILL
-When you leave a room in your own home, you turn off the lights because you don’t want to pay gulf power any extra money…. so since this is your home away from home, let’s treat it the same.
-It would help keep the office cooler if we kept the door shut and the lights off, when the office is not in use.
-Keep the back door closed, I am not heating and cooling the whole neighborhood!

SCRAP PAPER
-use both sides of the paper (not the toilet paper). Almost nothing that we print goes out to the customer, so use both sides of the paper so that we can save money

PAID OUTS
-If we need something for the store, please try to find the best deal. Bryan’s money is your money too. If we spend too much, it comes off the bottom line. This means we are less profitable and that could lead to a possible cut in benefits.

REPAIRS
-So, I suck at fixing things...for that I am sorry. If we can fix a problem, please see what we can do to buy the parts and fix our issue. It will cost us a little time and a little money, but every time we call a repairman out here he charges us $60 to show up, then we still have to pay an hourly rate plus parts.

I encourage you to think of new ways to save money. There are hundreds of things we can do, like using a spatula or picking up trash audits. Our job is to keep making money, let’s do it!
